Agents can read the web as Markdown

Browser sessions let an agent use a site, but every page costs a long accessibility snapshot. The new web tools give it the page the way a person would write it down.

What's new

  • web.* tools. An agent opens a page and reads it as Markdown, with headings, lists, tables and text, and with links and form fields numbered. It follows links, fills in fields and presses buttons by number, and every answer is the page that came back.
  • JavaScript included. Pages run their scripts, so single-page apps and Hotwire sites read as they would in a browser.
  • Same network rules. Pages go through the same gateway as screenshots and browser sessions, and through a workflow's egress route.

Browser sessions stay for screenshots, videos, traces and signed-in profiles. Read more in Reading web pages.
