Mailchimp
Look up, add and update audience members in Mailchimp, tag them and leave notes, and draft campaigns for someone to review and send.
Tools
mailchimp.list_audiences
List audiences (lists) with their member counts. Audience IDs look like 5a1b2c3d4e; most other tools need one.
mailchimp.list_merge_fields
List an audience's merge fields, whose tags (like FNAME or COMPANY) are the keys add_or_update_member takes in merge_fields.
mailchimp.search_members
Search members by email address or first or last name, in one audience or across the account. A member's id is the MD5 hash of their lowercased email.
mailchimp.get_member
Get an audience member by email address, with their status, merge fields, tags and engagement. The id in the result is the MD5 hash of their lowercased email, which update_member_tags and add_member_note take.
mailchimp.add_or_update_member writes
Add a member to an audience, or update the one with that email address. New members get status_if_new; set status only to change an existing member's. Returns the member's id, the MD5 hash of their lowercased email.
mailchimp.update_member_tags writes
Add tags to or remove tags from a member. Tags that don't exist yet are created. Takes the member's id, the MD5 hash of their lowercased email, from get_member, search_members or add_or_update_member.
mailchimp.add_member_note writes
Leave a note on a member, up to 1000 characters. Takes the member's id, the MD5 hash of their lowercased email, from get_member, search_members or add_or_update_member.
mailchimp.list_campaigns
List campaigns, newest first, with their open and click rates once sent. Campaign IDs look like 42694e9e57.
mailchimp.create_campaign_draft writes
Create a regular email campaign to an audience as a draft for someone to review and send from Mailchimp. It isn't scheduled or sent. Add its body with set_campaign_content.
mailchimp.set_campaign_content writes
Set a draft campaign's body as HTML. Mailchimp writes the plain-text version itself unless you give one.
mailchimp.api_get
Send a GET request to any Mailchimp API path under https://{dc}.api.mailchimp.com/3.0 and return the response. For endpoints the named tools don't cover.
mailchimp.api_request writes
Send a POST, PUT, PATCH or DELETE request to any Mailchimp API path under https://{dc}.api.mailchimp.com/3.0.
Tick Allow raw writes on the connection to add api_request, which can send POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE requests to any Mailchimp API path.
Connect
- In Mailchimp, click your profile icon → Profile → Extras → API keys (us1.admin.mailchimp.com/account/api/), choose Create A Key, name it and copy it. Mailchimp shows it only once.
- Paste it as the connection's API key, and enter the data center, the part after the dash at the end of the key, e.g. us21 for a key ending in -us21.
